As we all know, the price of everything is rising. Unfortunately, this applies to dirt bikes too (as if the sport wasn't already expensive enough). Prices play a huge part in deciding what dirt bike would be best for you- especially when considering new versus used. Let's price check some common new dirt bikes!

Mini

Mini bikes are referring to the ones meant for kids. Adults might also use them as pit bikes. Here's some of the most popular mini bikes and their current prices:

  • Honda CRF 50
    • A 2023 CRF 50F comes in at $1,699. There is an additional $200 surcharge and $100 destination fee.
    • Current color options include white with pink accents or the classic Honda red. Honda is adding some interesting colors to this year's lineup.
  • Yamaha PW 50
    • A 2023 PW 50 also costs $1,699. There is a $160 destination fee and a $100 freight fee.
    • This bike comes in the classic Yamaha blue.

Youth

Youth bikes are the next step up from minis. They are aimed for older kids who have more riding experience and are ready for more power. Of course with a bigger bike, the prices also increase. Keep reading for the details:

  • Kawasaki KX 85
    • A 2023 KX 85 comes in at $4,699, a considerable jump from the mini bikes. The destination charge is $245, as well as a $200 freight charge.
    • You'll find this bike in Kawi green.
  • KTM SX 65
    • The 2023 SX 65 costs $5,499 plus a $385 freight charge.
    • This bike comes with the typical plastics that are KTM orange in the front and white in the back.

Adult

Last but not least, we have the adult dirt bikes. We usually refer to adult bikes as the bigger ones like 250cc and 450cc.

  • Yamaha YZ 250
    • The 2023 YZ 250 costs $7,899 plus a $450 destination charge and $275 freight charge.
    • Once again, you'll find Yamaha blue plastics on this bike as the only option.
  • CRF 450R
    • A 2023 CRF450R is going to run you $9,599 plus a $400 destination charge and $200 freight fee.
    • The only available color is classic Honda red. There are slightly different color variations if you choose to go with the CRF 450 RWE or the CRF 450R Anniversary edition instead.

There are many options when it comes to buying a dirt bike. Some people like to buy new because they consider it more reliable. Others like to buy used since they might already have aftermarket parts. Deciding what's right for you usually links back to the cost. It's also important to consider the cost of maintenance and the other required costs such as riding gear, a way to haul it and race fees.
