Movies About Dirt Bikes You'll Want to Watch

We all know movies that relate to your interests are the best ones to watch. While there are not a ton of movies directly related to dirt bikes, there are a few great ones out there. Read on to find movies to add to your watch list.

Motocrossed

  • Motocrossed is a family-friendly Disney movie from 2001. A young girl secretly poses as her twin brother after he breaks his leg in order to compete in the championship race. 
  • Motocrossed stars Alana Austin and Trevor O'Brein as the Carson twins. It was filmed on the Barona Oaks motocross track on an Indian reservation in San Diego county. 
  • You can watch this movie with a Disney Plus subscription or for $5.99 from the Google Play store.
  • This is a great family movie with positive role models showing determination. It would be great to incorporate into a family movie night. Check out this link for more ideas on snacks to pair with the movie your kids will love.

Bennett's War

  • Bennett's War is a drama filled movie from 2019. It follows a soldier named Marshall Bennett, who's in a motorcycle unit in Afghanistan during the war. After being injured in combat, Marshall returns home to a difficult situation. In an effort to help, he ignores medical advice and hops back on a dirt bike, causing drama along the way.
  • Bennett's War stars Michael Roark as Marshall Bennett and Allison Paige as his wife Sophie. 
  • This film is loosely based on real-life experiences of wounded veterans. It was filmed on a motocross track with real racers. Read more here about the actual riders who appear in the movie.
  • This movie is rated PG-13 due to some language and violence, making it a better option for older racers interested in dirt bike related movies. You can find it on streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Vudu.

This is MOTO

  • This movie is a documentary from 2019 that gives the viewer an inside look at the lives of 8 top motocross riders each with a unique story. It features: Zach Osborne, Dean Wilson, Cody Webb, Tom Parsons, Vicki Golden, Todd Waters, Dereck Beckering and Daxton Bennick.
  • This is MOTO is part of a series that is directed by Jason Plough and Dominick Russo. You can read more about it here, as well as purchase the DVD.

  • MOTO Co works specifically with high quality motocross filming. They've done work for major brands such as Fly Racing, KTM, Husqvarna, Polaris, Geico and more. Their website explains more about what they do.

Supercross

  • Supercross is a action movie from 2005 about 2 brothers who compete in supercross. Drama erupts when one of the brothers is offered a sponsorship but not the other.
  • It stars Steve Howey and Mike Vogel as the main characters. It was filmed in San Bernardino California, Santa Clarita, California and Las Vegas, Nevada.  
  • It doesn't have great reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, especially compared to the other movies we mentioned. Be aware that this one is also rated PG-13.

A-X-L

  • A-X-L is about a robotic dog discovered in the desert by Miles while he was riding his dirt bike. A-X-L is a failed experiment that the government attempted to hide. Miles befriends the dog and they protect each other.
  • This movie stars Alex Neustaedter as Miles. It is sci-fi and action, and related to dirt bikes due to Miles' interests. It is another great family movie because it is rated PG.

Dust to Glory

  • Dust to Glory is a documentary from 2005 on the 24 hour Baja 1000 race held on the Baja California Penninsula. It is known as the most notorious and dangerous race in the world.
  • The documentary follows racers of all kinds, from celebrities to first-timers. It is rated PG.
  • The Baja 1000 race features multiple types of vehicles including: trophy trucks, dirt bikes, side by sides and more.
