5 Places to Ride Near Pittsburgh

Looking for new places to ride? The following are some great riding places local to us (within 2 hours of Pittsburgh).
#1 Mines and Meadows
Mines and Meadows is located in Wampum, PA -about 40 minutes north of Pittsburgh. This riding park features 84 miles of trails, but uniquely has access to abandoned underground limestone mines you can ride your ATV, dirt bike, or UTV through. This park also offers a parts store and room for camping. Mines and Meadows is open 7 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm. Check out their website for more information.
#2 Ben Franklin Range OHV Park
Formerly Scrubgrass OHV Park, Ben Franklin Range is located in Templeton, PA which is about an hour northeast of Pittsburgh. This park has over 65 miles of trails and hosts rides every month. AWRCS races are also held here once or twice a year. You'll find hill climbs, rock crawling and mud pits on Ben Franklin's 1,100+ acres. They welcome all off-road vehicles including: ATVs, dirt bikes, Jeeps, rock crawlers and UTVs. The property also features a shooting range with experienced training staff. #3 Switchback MX
Switchback is located 50 minutes from Pittsburgh in Butler, PA. There you'll find a motocross track, a 47,000 sq ft indoor arena-cross style track, and even a few woods trails. Switchback also hosts races, which you can keep track of by following their social media or heading to the website. They are open year-round and offer group rentals and annual passes.
#4 Rock Run Recreation Area
Located almost 2 hours from Pittsburgh in Patton, PA, Rock Run Recreation Area is settled in the Allegheny Mountains. It features 140+ miles of trails for ATVs, dirt bikes and UTVs as well as Jeeps and rock crawlers. You'll find events and races when the park is in operation from April to October. AWRCS hosts a race every October at this location. Rock Run's 2022 season concludes with a toy run on October 30th. They offer camping and the option to buy season passes. #5 Mountain Ridge ATV Park
Mountain Ridge ATV Park is located 1.5 hours from Pittsburgh in Central City, PA. Despite the name, this park welcomes ATVs, dirt bikes and UTVs. Jeeps and other off-road vehicles are not currently allowed. They are open 7 days a week from Memorial Day until Labor Day. Mountain Ridge features camping sites, new cabin rentals with electricity, hill climbs, mud pits, motocross tracks and woods riding. They also have shower areas and a place to clean off your bike.
